Once you book your session, we will decide where we will “shoot” your session. You tell me the feel you are going for and we will go from there.
Nature lover?
We will meet at a local park, creek, or field. My favorite time to shoot is in the afternoon when the light is soft and pretty!
Or Urbanite?
We will meet at a local downtown, Joplin, Monett, Carthage, even Granby! And spend some time exploring. I love capturing all of the interesting colors and textures that you can find in an urban setting.
If you have a spot in mind, please let me know! I love discovering new places and trying new things.
For seniors, and couples we will do some location hopping 1-4 different locations within driving distance of each other. This way we can get use both types of settings.
For families and young children, just one location is best.
Maternity, it just depends on what you are up for!
What to wear?
Think about the look you want, and where you are going to be displaying your photos. It’s best to coordinate your clothing, without “matching” too much. Also, make sure your clothing is comfortable, if you are not, it is going to show in your photos. Be sure to be yourself! Don’t buy something new that you are never going to wear again! However, if you are going to wear it again, then by all means…buy something new!!

FYI to parents
I know that photo sessions can be a little stressful. No worries, plan on stepping back and letting me take over and tease your children into smiling. Trust me, threatening them for smiles does not work. And please don’t be embarrassed with less than 100% cooperation, I’m sorta used to it, I won’t judge your parenting methods. It’s just a fact that most kids don’t like being told what to do. I try to make it fun for them.
Bonus tip!
A hungry child is a grumpy child! Make sure they have a small snack before your photo session and things will go much smoother!
